Spot-on Solutions takes your security seriously!

Privacy

Our privacy policy is simple. Details collected through this Web site's enquiry form will not be passed to third parties unless required by law.

In the event that someone asks for your contact details I will obtain permission from you to tell that particular person. (If you both are involved in the same project with Spot-on Solutions, I may assume that permission to put you in contact is implicit.)

Confidentiality

If your project requires a confidentiality agreement, just send me your standard one to sign if you have one (but see note below). Otherwise I'll send you a simple undertaking on request.

Note
Of late, interest in Non-Disclosure Agreements seems to have sky-rocketed. A result, no doubt, of our increasingly litigious society. Click here for some simple guidelines.

Cookies and Scripts

This site uses a tracking script to monitor how many visitors arrive from a Google search. This does not affect your privacy.

Security

Backups on removable media are always held in password-protected archives. This would make it very difficult for a casual thief to find anything interesting.

If you need me to I can, on request, securely delete any confidential files pertaining to your work. So, in the unlikely event of someone stealing (or recycling) my computers, they will not be able to reconstruct your confidential files. Be assured that the "folk wisdom" that files are still left on the disk when Windows deletes them is not applicable at Spot-on-Solutions!

As of May 2006, all work files are stored on an encrypted drive using 256-bit AES encryption (currently unbreakable).

My workstations are protected by anti-virus, anti-spyware, a firewall, proven highly-secure Web and E-mail software and, above all, a paranoid approach to Safe Computing.

Protecting E-mail

If you require a secure way to send information by e-mail, use PGP. Good e-mail programs will have this built-in. You'll need my public key for this (right click on the link and save). You then encrypt using my key and only I can decode it - evesdroppers who get hold of my key can't decode anything with it, they can only create encrypted messages, not decrypt them. It's the best system around, probably not breakable by anyone in the world and in most cases it is free.

Critical Projects

Please discuss your requirement with me in advance.
